Awards Ceremony 24-25
As of May 2nd, the James Monroe Battalion proudly welcomed its new leadership team for the 2025–2026 school year. The battalion of command has officially been passed down from C/LTC Freddy Pahua, who honorably served as the Battalion Commander during the 2024–2025 term. After a year of dedicated service and leadership, Pahua made the important decision to appoint the next generation of leaders who will guide the battalion to new heights. Leading the charge as the new Battalion Commander is Melly-Ann Carmona, whose commitment and determination have earned her this respected role. Supporting her will be Kevin Alvarez as the new Command Sergeant Major, ensuring discipline, unity, and morale remain strong within the battalion. Rounding out the command team is Alondra Hernandez, who will take on the critical role of Executive Officer, assisting in operations and helping the battalion run smoothly. Together, this leadership team is prepared to build upon past successes and set the standard for excellence in the year ahead.

All city platoon
The All-City Platoon (ACP) in JROTC is an elite unit made up of the top cadets from different high schools across a city or district. It represents the highest standards of discipline, teamwork, and drill performance, often serving as the “face” of JROTC during parades, ceremonies, and community events. Members of the ACP train with dedication, practicing advanced marching and precision drill while competing in tough drill competitions and performing at major celebrations such as Veterans Day or Memorial Day observances. Being selected for the All-City Platoon is considered a high honor, as it highlights a cadet’s leadership, discipline, and commitment. At James Monroe High School, our cadets push themselves to work hard every day, showing discipline, teamwork, and pride, which has led us to become 25-year All-City winners—a record that proves our effort and determination to succeed.
